Sally Defriend

Sally graduated from the University of Reading in 2000 with a First Class Honours in Economics and Marketing. From there she embarked upon a career in NHS management, during which she developed an interest in the law and studied part time toward the GDL at the College of Law.

Having passed with a commendation Sally went on to be a caseworker at the Legal Complaints Service (a branch of the Law Society) where she worked for 4 years, developing an expertise in client care. She studied part time towards her LPC at College of Law and passed with a distinction in 2010.

In her spare time Sally likes to keep fit by cycling and jogging, but above all enjoys relaxing with her young family.


Christopher Collins

Chris joined Osbornes in 2003 and has several years experience in handling all types of personal injury claims. Recent cases include a £60,000 settlement for a motorcyclist injured by a hit and run driver, and a successful claim against a taxi driver whose passenger opened a door injuring a passer by. 

Chris is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and his qualifications include a Graduate Diploma in Law and the Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice.

His main interests are walking, photography and music.

Lauren Phillips

Lauren graduated from Newcastle University in 2009 with a 2:1 Law Degree. She completed the Legal Practice Course with distinction at the College of Law in London and joined Osbornes as a paralegal in August 2010.

 In her spare time Lauren enjoys reading, attempting to cook and going out with friends.

Sam Collard

After graduating in history from University College London in 2005, Sam completed the GDL and LPC at the College of Law in London.  He joined Osbornes as a trainee solicitor in September 2009. 

In his spare time Sam enjoys watching and playing football and travelling.

Charlotte Williams

After graduating with a 2:1 degree in English from Leeds University, Charlotte completed her training at the College of Law in London and at Russell-Cooke in Putney, where she gained experience in personal injury Claims and clinical negligence, qualifying in September 2005. Charlotte joined Osbornes as a solicitor in the Personal Injury department in October 2005 and was made an associate in January 2012

Charlotte has a wide range of personal injury experience with a caseload which includes road traffic accidents claims, a variety of accidents at work and cases against private occupiers and public authorities.  Charlotte is also a member of APIL.

Recent successes include winning almost £100,000 for a cyclist who was knocked over by a car and suffered a serious shoulder injury, and £45,000 for an employee who suffered permanent damage to his ankle after falling from a ladder. 

Outside work, Charlotte enjoys most sports especially running and snowboarding.


 

Sabrina Powell

Sabrina studied law at the University of Leicester obtaining a 2.1, she then completed her LPC at the College of Law where she obtained a distinction.  Sabrina worked as a paralegal in a West Midlands firm before moving to London to undertake her training contact at Hanne and Co.

Sabrina qualified as a solicitor and joined Osbornes Family department in May 2012.

In her spare time Sabrina enjoys travelling and adventure activities such as skiing and rock climbing. She also enjoys quiet time with a good book.

Dzifa Gan

Dzifa graduated from the University of Western Australia with  2:1 degrees in both Law and Psychology.  She relocated to London in July 2008 and joined the family law team at Osbornes in 2010.

Dzifa completed the Australian College of Law program with a first and in 2011, she completed the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme thereby making her a dual qualified solicitor being admitted in both Australia and in England and Wales.

In her spare time, Dzifa enjoys boxing,travelling and socialising with friends and family.

Hannah Viet (nee Fleck)

Hannah graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2008 in Law and then moved to London to complete the LPC at Kaplan Law School.  In her third year at University Hannah undertook a placement at Hodge Jones and Allen Solicitors working as a Legal Clerk. She joined Osbornes as a trainee solicitor in September 2009.

In her summer breaks from University Hannah travelled around South East Asia. In her spare time enjoys going to the theatre.

Hannah is recommended in the Legal 500 2012 directory as a recommended individual and is described as "giving sound advice"


Michael Cockings

Michael qualified as a solicitor in 2009, having trained at Osbornes.

He graduated from the University of Manchester with a 2:1 honours degree in Law and completed the Legal Practice Course at the Bristol Institute of Legal Practice. He gained legal experience working as a Civil Litigation Case Manager in the Official Solicitor's Office before commencing his training at Osbornes.

Anna Pask

Anna graduated in Law at Swansea University and undertook the Legal Practice Course in Bristol. She worked as a paralegal for a national firm before joining Osbornes Personal Injury Law Solicitors  Department in March 2004. She became a trainee solicitor in October 2005.  Anna qualified as a solicitor in October 2007 and re joins the Personal Injury Department.

In her spare time Anna enjoys traveling, snowboarding and retail procurement.

Elspeth Neilson

Having graduated with a 2:1 Law degree, Elspeth completed her Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School, achieving a Commendation.  Elspeth went on to obtain a Masters degree in Professional Legal Practice where she was awarded a Distinction. 

Elspeth joined Osbornes’ Private Client Department in July 2012, following completion of her training contract and qualifying as a Solicitor. 

In her spare time, Elspeth enjoys music, cycling and reading.

Emily Lund

Emily graduated with a degree in law from Durham University in 2005. She went on to pass the LPC with distinction at the College of Law in London.  She joined Osbornes as a paralegal in 2006 and, after completing her training contract, qualified as a solicitor in the Property Department in October 2009.

Emily specialises in residential property transactions, including sales and purchases of freehold and leasehold properties, re-mortgages, transfer of equity and unregistered land.

In her spare time Emily enjoys walking and cycling around her local Hertfordshire countryside and going abroad with her husband.

Leena Hindocha

Leena was admitted as a solicitor in August 2002, having completed the LPC at BPP Law School in London. 

 

She joined Osbornes Solicitors LLP in May 2012 having previously practised as a residential and commercial property solicitor in North London and Bedfordshire. 

 

Leena undertakes all aspects of residential conveyancing including freehold and leasehold transactions as well as re-mortgages and transfer of equity.

After qualifying  in 2006, Claire undertakes all aspects of residential conveyancing and is used to acting for a variety of clients including first time buyers, developers and investors.

Claire joined Osbornes in April 2012 having previously trained and practised in Bristol and then in Edgware .

In her spare time, she enjoys baking, getting value for money out of her National Trust membership and helps run a Guide unit.

Thul joined Osbornes as a solicitor in March 2012.  He graduated from the University of Essex in 2006 and completed his diploma in legal practice, at the College of Law in 2007.

Prior to joining Osbornes, Thul worked for Shelter, the housing charity, in Hackney.  Thul qualified as a solicitor in a busy social welfare law firm in West London, gaining significant housing law experience.  Thul also has experience in family law, consumer money advice and employment law.

Outside of work Thul enjoys live comedy and following West Ham United.  He is aware there is a joke in there somewhere.

Neelum Varsani Atkins

Neelum graduated from the University of Bristol in 2003 with a 2.1 in law. She completed her training at Russell-Cooke LLP and joined Osbornes, qualifying as a solicitor in June 2009.

Neelum advises on all areas of family law, in particular on the financial aspects of divorce and disputes in relation to children. Neelum also has experience advising on pre-nuptial agreements and cohabitation.

Katie joined Osbornes as a solicitor in June 2008.  She graduated from Nottingham University in 2004 and completed her diploma in Legal Practice at Nottingham Law School in 2007.

Prior to joining Osbornes, Katie worked in a thriving East Midlands practice gaining significant family law experience in both family and children matters. Katie also has experience in civil litigation and social security law.

Paven Basuita

Paven has a broad range of experience in family law matters from divorce  and financial matters to children related cases. She is experienced in offering advice relating to divorce, financial settlement, pre-nuptial agreements and can advise on how finances should be resolved where the parties were not married. In terms of children cases, Paven advises on residence and contact applications as well as more complex applications such as relocation to another country. She also advises on emergency applications such as prohibited steps orders and injunctions.

Paven represented the Applicant Mother in her successful application for financial provision for the benefit of her son in the High Court case of FG v MBW [2011] EWHC 1729 (Fam). She also recently acted for the Respondent in the Court of Appeal case of Karim v Musa [2012] EWCA Civ 1332 which concerned the appeal of a final order in financial proceedings.

Anest Mathias

Anest qualified as a solicitor in October 2005 after completing her training at Osbornes.

Anest undertakes a range of family work. Anest represents parents and family members in public law proceedings and private law proceedings including proceedings where there are issues about domestic violence, abduction and threatened abduction. In relation to financial remedies, Anest has a particular niche in cases where one party is also subject to confiscation proceedings following a criminal conviction.

Anest accredited by the Law Society to  join the Law Society's Children Panel.
